So how does WSI’s OmniRoamer service work?
OmniRoamer was developed through years of experience in roaming communications and is compromised of four key elements.
Dual IMSI SIMs for outbound roaming
A dual IMSI SIM in your subscriber’s handset provides access to OmniRoamer. If you have an existing agreement for your subscriber’s roaming destination, OmniRoamer remains passive; when there is no agreement, OmniRoamer is invoked.
Signaling
When the OmniRoamer platform receives signaling from a visited network, the OmniRoamer gateway validates the subscriber’s credentials, and provides information and authentication to allow the subscriber to roam on the network.
Billing
OmniRoamer provides TAP files to bill subscribers for the roaming services they have used. OmniRoamer captures TAP records from visited networks and packages them for the home network as if there were existing individual roaming agreements.
Data clearing and financial settlement
OmniRoamer follows industry standards for the transfer of TAP files, financial clearing and settlement. You can use your existing data clearinghouse or OmniRoamer can provide TAP files directly through a secure internet connection.
Financial clearing is handled through our financial settlement system. This provides each wireless operator using the OmniRoamer service with information on OmniRoamer payments and system usage. Additionally, part of the data clearing function includes an on-line reporting system to provide you with detailed roaming data.
